Challenges
- In every SAP system, password expiry duration is always set by the administrator during the setup of an application. In some the cases user may enter the incorrect password.
- The SAP ID might get locked due to wrong login attempt. Once the expiry date is reached or locked in case of wrong login attempt, user may need to take the help of SAP Basis Admin to unlock and reset the password.
- The users will not be able to perform any important task during this time which will result in loss of productivity..
Initiative
- To automate the password reset at the same time without sacrificing the confidentiality policy, DataNub proposed a 2 level authentication process to automate the password reset process .
Solution
- The administrators sets the automatization method during user creation process which is used as reference to validate user authenticity
- Users can use password self service portal to authenticate themselves first and use wide variety of option to reset their password in respective system
- The users are also notified with the password over email
- Administrators has an option to download the list of users who reset the password at any given point of time.
