Manage user id mapping is a new application which was introduced to manage the user id effectivity, this is very useful in scenarios where user id is different in each application and a common user id mapping is required in SAP IAG. This will ensure which ensures that the right users have access to the right resources, maintaining security and efficiency.

What is User ID Mapping?

User ID mapping involves associating user identities from different systems and applications to a centralized identity in SAP IAG. This helps in maintaining a single source of truth for user identities, providing a seamless experience for users and administrators. Steps to Manage User ID Mapping in SAP IAG

1. Preparation

  • Identify all the systems and applications that need user ID mapping.
  •  Ensure that we have the necessary administrative rights to access SAP IAG and the connected systems.

2. Accessing the User ID Mapping Module

  • Log in to SAP IAG using your administrative credentials and select manage user id mapping

3. Creation of User Mapping

  • Click on “Add New Mapping.”
  • Enter the user’s details, such as the user’s name, current ID, and the target system ID.
  • Save the mapping to add it to the system

4. Deleting User ID Mappings

  • Select the user ID mapping you wish to delete.
  • Click on the “Delete” icon.
  • Confirm the deletion to remove the mapping from the system

5. Upload Multiple User ID Mapping

  • Select the user ID mapping you wish to upload.
  • Click on the “upload” icon.
